Awaken City Family Worship Brunch
In March, Awaken City Church began hosting a brunch one Sunday a month at the school where the church will be launching in September. We have modeled this worship brunch on the example of the early church found in the book of Acts:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
We have eaten together, praised God through song, prayed in prayer stations individually & as a group for our neighborhood and city, and participated in the Lord's supper. These have been sweet moments of sensing the Lord's presence and one by one our community is growing.
Yesterday, before our brunch, I met Maria outside. She lives across the street from the school and is the landlord of her building. After a simple invite, a few hours later, Maria was sitting at the table with us with one our team translating for her. It was a beautiful picture of the church. Would you pray that Maria and her whole house would find a place of belonging with Awaken City Church. We believe that God wants to add to our number daily those who are being saved.
Would you take a moment right now to pray for Maria? Who is the Maria in your life?
