Thankful for the BODY!!
"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." (1 Corinthians 12:12-16, NIV)
It is hard to believe that just one week ago we left our home in Holland, MI and began our journey to Boston, MA. We felt your prayers of protection and made memorable stops along the way. We finally arrived in the neighborhood of Quincy, MA late Friday night. For our first month, we are staying on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College until our rental becomes available in the neighborhood ofJamaica Plain.
Yesterday, our family had the privilege of attending Wollaston Church of the Nazarene located on the campus of ENC. The pastor, Stretch Dean, is a friend of Jason's from college. As I listened to the powerful sermon, my heart was filled with gratitude to be a part of the BODY of Christ. My mind began to imagine what God could accomplish through HIS CHURCH. What if the people of God truly saw themselves as brothers and sisters. linking arms for the sake of the Gospel? I am thankful for leaders like Stretch, and churches like Wollaston Church of the Nazarene, who are willing to think creatively and love lavishly in order to reach Boston.
Who is God calling you to "link arms" with today so that the Kingdom of God might come on earth as it is in heaven?
